Taking the Road to Innovation

Already the world’s 5th biggest recycler, transport infrastructure specialist Colas is developing new sustainable solutions set to transform how roads are made and operated in the future. An example is Wattway, a ground-breaking photovoltaic technology that captures and stores renewable solar energy within the road surface.

Colas approached Amberjack to launch its innovative propositions at the Highways UK exhibition. We showcased Colas on two adjacent high-impact stands under the theme ‘Innovating the Future of Highways’.

Storytelling was a critical part of the brief so we used the Zappar AR app to deliver content directly to visitors’ mobile devices. Scanning Zappar code icons on stand graphics, furniture or leaflets gave visitors instant access to exciting video, animations and text, either on the stand, or post-show. By fusing AR technology with traditional event marketing, we showed how Colas is leading a rethink of transport infrastructure.
